Brandi Jones, PA-C

Brandi grew up along the Mississippi River. She received her bachelor’s degree from Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi, before going on to earn her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from South College in Knoxville, Tennessee.

She brings several years of Orthopedic experience to Direct Orthopedic Care. She is knowledgeable in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries in both surgical and outpatient settings. She is qualified to diagnose and treat a variety of orthopedic issues including, but not limited to fractures, sprains/strains, overuse syndromes, and joint degeneration. She is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

In her spare time, she enjoys walking her dog, Bailey, spending time with her family, and traveling.

Anita Akpunku, PA-C

Anita was born and raised in West Africa and spent most of her early life in Nigeria before moving to the United States with her family. She comes from a big family of 8 children and is number 7. She spent over 4 years in the aviation industry as an aircraft dispatcher for major lines until she was called to medicine in 2013.  With an undergraduate degree in Microbiology already under her belt, Ms. Akpunku went on to earn her Masters of Biomedical Science with an emphasis in Physician Assistance in 2016.

She has since worked in orthopedic surgery with a focus in sports medicine and assisted in a variety of orthopedic surgeries including joint replacement, knee and shoulder arthroscopy, ACL and knee ligaments reconstruction, and trauma. Overall, she is qualified to treat a variety of orthopedic and sports injuries.

Anita holds a Texas medical Physician Assistant license and is board certified by the NCCPA. She is a member of various orthopaedic and Physician Assistant organizations including AAOS, PAOS, TAPA, and AAPA. Now, Anita lives in Denton Texas and enjoys traveling to different countries in her free time.
