Meet M. Peter Edelson
I was jumping into a pool catching a football from height and I caught the ball wrong. My diagnosis was I broke my pinkie in two different places and I also dislocated it. Needless to say, it hurt.
My first thought was this is really bad.
My second thought was this needs to be checked out and I’m not going to the emergency room. There’s no way. I’ve had bad experiences there so much so that I’ve read books in the emergency room waiting and waiting.
So I’d been hearing DOC a lot on the radio and I knew that this was the place to go to because their big message is, “Don’t go to the ER. You don’t have to.”
So it had been engrained in me. if something is broken or something needs fixing, go in and see DOC, avoid the hospital and that’s what really triggered my mind got to see the specialist, Julie, and Julie was amazing. They took x-rays immediately and talking to me all the while. “What happened? What’s going on? How are you feeling? What is your pain?” It was a professional experience. It was one of those pieces where I was really caught surprised by how solid it was, truth be told. 23
Julie came back and told me that, “Your hand needs to be looked at by a specialist, by a DOC surgeon.” She made that referral right then and there and I was able to see that Ortho Pod or that orthopedic person within 24 hours.
My experience at DOC was memorable.
DOC really positioned me for success with my hand. I’m an active guy. I need to work out. I need to play tennis and do the things that make me happy and DOC has, I think, set me up for success with that
I will tell everyone to come here and not go to the hospital. You don’t need to. There’s a better way of doing things and I think DOC has really cornered the market in doing that.
